The Babel narrative tells us a lot about the rebellious nature of mankind, and the discipline of God. He said, "scatter over the whole earth, people!" they said, "no, we want to do our own thing." God then put an end to their mono-culture self-worship dreams, and at the same time made it possible for hundreds of beautiful cultures to be developed by giving them all a jump-start: unique languages.
