Time well spent

Today I reflected on how I spend my time, and I was distressed with the revelation of my reflection.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO ME AFTER HOURS ON THE COMPUTER. Intelligence leaves the Kyla

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO ME AFTER HOURS ON THE COMPUTER. Intelligence leaves the Kyla

I spend my time chasing satisfaction and fulfillment in things like the internet, movies, TV shows, and food. Pinterest and Stumbleupon devour my time, and my hours are gobbled up by movies.

As I was reflecting on this, I thought of how I’d LIKE to be spending my time. I wish I spent my time painting, drawing, making music, cooking, baking, sewing, cleaning, researching, studying, reading, creating… etc. All of those things are things I love to do, but “never have time for.” PSHAW, says I. I do have time, I just spend it foolishly!

SO! I made a small step to freeing my time today by deleting my Pinterest and Stumbleupon account and unsubscribing to the plethora of email notifications I get from this, that and the other thing. I hope to continue on this trend and start spending my time doing better things than internetting. I sometimes wish I could cloister myself away from the internet and become a hermit, hidden from the temptations of the world. However, this is not how life works. One must live with the internet, so one must learn to control it, instead of letting it control you.

I feel just a little bit more free. 🙂
